Gregory Moore

Gregory R. Moore, MD, MPH, FACOG

Dr. Moore received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and his Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Pittsburgh. His medical degree is from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed an OB/GYN residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and is board certified in that specialty. He also trained in Occupational Medicine at the Uniformed Services University. During his 25 year career in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Moore served in a variety of clinical and operational positions including Chair, Department of OB/GYN at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD and Task Force Command Surgeon aboard USS Belleau Wood. His final military assignment was as the Director of Clinical Services at the Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune, NC. Commended by the President of the United States for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service, he was awarded the Legion of Merit. He has served on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ committees responsible for gynecologic practice, patient safety, immunizations and adolescent healthcare. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the ACOG Ethics Committee and is President of the Southern College Health Association. His research interests include sexually transmitted diseases, health behavior and contraception. He has published scientific articles on reproductive hazards, schistosomiasis, premenstrual syndrome, disaster relief and health behavior of college women. Academically he serves as a Clinical Professor in the School of Applied Physiology. In addition to his administrative duties, Dr. Moore maintains an active clinical schedule in Women’s Health. He joined Stamps Health Services at Senior Director in August 2010 after serving in a similar capacity at the University of Kentucky.
