What I Wish I Had Known as a First Year Student Starting Tech
Thursday, July 14, 2011 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm * Klaus College of Computing, Atrium
Refreshments: Chick-fil-A dinner provided (Vegan and vegetarian options)
Did you know you can retake a course for a grade change? Or that companies look more favorably on making an impact in 1 or 2 areas outside of the classroom instead of being involved in everything? Wouldn’t it be great as a first year student to get the “inside scoop” on how to navigate Tech and learn all the little secrets to make life easier?
Join SAA for the opportunity to have dinner with very recent Tech grads who will share insider information about how to be successful at Tech. These graduates will share their good choices, bad choices, and secrets that they discovered along the way. As incoming first year students, you will get to know what it took these recent alumni 4, 5, or even 6 years to figure out! So come out, enjoy some dinner and learn from the experts.
Topics Include
- Dos and don’ts in your first year
- Long term planning, how to take the right steps while at Tech
- Best advice and biggest mistakes from recent alumni
